Join us as The Swan Gymnastics Team proudly presents our 2024 Moana Showcase, commemorating our 11th anniversary. Prepare to be swept away by a vibrant display of joy and vitality, featuring dazzling performances in recreational gymnastics and dance by our exceptionally talented children.
We sometimes forget how amazing gymnastics is and the amazing people behind it, gymnastics has got to be one of the hardest sports but a sport that’s going to build a foundation of life skills and experience for many gymnasts. In this show we made it about the kids about life and taking every moment in, as well as remembering how far we have come as a club, we hope we captured that and made lifetimes of memories for many.
Disney’s Moana is no ordinary princess; she’s a heroine.
The 16-year-old Polynesian heroine, voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho, is here to unleash a new wave of girl power across the world.
And she does it all by using the stars to navigate the open ocean, defeating a fuming lava god, and finding herself in the process.
All with a chicken in tow – because why not, eh?
Celebrating the rich history of Oceania and based on the beliefs and cultures of the people of the Pacific Islands, Moana was developed in collaboration with an Oceanic Trust – a group of anthropologists, cultural practitioners, historians, linguists, and choreographers from the Pacific Islands.
The same respect and attention to detail used to develop the film was carried forward in the creation of this stage adaptation, with a host of cultural resources available in the ShowKit® materials.
